Bespoke Theatrical Costume

Creating costumes for James & the Giant Peach and following a design brief.

We had a team of people working on the set build, puppets, and design of this production.  I was in charge of making and designing costume for this unusual production.  My brief was to make it look very much stitched by hand, so I decided to use patchwork and panels in the work.

One of the many tasks was making 20 pairs of tiny shoes, stitched by hand out of leather, and attached to 40 feet for the centipede to wear. These were sewn to the arms and down the sides of the coat worn.
